Description

Tivoli Gardens was founded in 1843 and has become a national treasure and an international attraction.

Tivoli Gardens is a famous amusement park in Copenhagen and is the second oldest amusement park that has survived intact to this day, after Dyrehavsbakken in nearby Klampenborg.

Fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen visited Tivoli Gardens several times, as did Walt Disney and many other celebrities, all of whom fell in love with the gardens, and the secret of Tivoli Gardens is that there is something for everyone.

The scenery is beautiful with exotic architecture, historic buildings and lush gardens.

The Tivoli Gardens are an excellent tourist attraction, especially if you are traveling with children. Inside the park you can see the Tivoli Guard, a group of young men dressed similarly to the Royal Guards of the Amalienborg Palace, parade by and walk among its most famous buildings, which replicate famous constructions from around the world... You will find pagodas, sumptuous Arabian palaces and even a frigate!

Among the shows you can attend at Tivoli Park is the Pantomime Theatre, a series of shows based on pantomime and ballet that are staged on several open-air stages. Music also finds a place in the park: every Friday, in fact, inside Tivoli Gardens it is possible to attend Friday Rock, a festival in which Danish rock bands perform.

Tivoli's oldest and most popular ride, the 1914 wooden roller coaster, is one of only seven roller coasters in the world that have a brakeman aboard each train.

At night, thousands of colored lights create a fairy-tale atmosphere that is totally unique.
