Description

Roman Baths in Bath ( England ) The Celts first declared these hot springs sacred and dedicated them to their goddess Sulis. Then, in A.D. 43, the Romans arrived, co-opted Sulis into their goddess Minerva, and built the spa town Aquae Sulis with the baths complex and the Temple of Sulis Minerva at its heart. Later renamed Bath, the city built public buildings in the Neoclassical style during the 18th century.
