Description

Wentworth Falls is a charming village with some of the finest scenery and bushwalks in the Blue Mountains right on its doorstep. Take a hike, dine in style at the town’s cafes, stay the night – for anyone who loves wilderness and adventure there are many things to do. The historic town of Wentworth Falls opens onto spectacular walks and lookouts with postcard views. Beginning at Wentworth Falls village, Falls Road leads to the large, leafy Wentworth Falls Picnic Area and the nearby Wentworth Falls Track. This trail runs a level path past Jamison and Wentworth lookouts before descending to the cliff-edge at Fletchers lookout. Enjoy superb views of Wentworth Falls, as it cascades 100m to the valley floor. The nearby Valley of the Waters is another one of the prettiest spots in the Blue Mountains. Enjoy lunch at the Conservation Hut Café, at the end of Fletcher Street. From here, the trail dives down the hillside, becoming more lush until the sound of rushing water signals your arrival. A number of lookouts are accessible along this trail, including Queen Victoria Lookout, Empress Lookout and Lyrebird Lookout. For further spectacular views turn off the Great Western Highway at Tableland Road, turn onto Queen Elizabeth Drive and then Ingar Road and after about 10 km you reach Ingar Picnic Ground, one of the most remote and beautiful in the Blue Mountains. Known as Kings Tableland, this area offers sensational views over the traditional land of the Gundungurra people.
